OP39 letter variation

I noted there is a difference in the way the letters are shifted in some dials. Note how the X in Rolex is over the PE of Perpetual on one dial but slightly shifted so it is over the E on another watch dial. Is this variation common?

there are other differences on the dial. Look at the outer hour marker. One has furniture the other is printed.

Are you sure the top one is real? The printing seems uneven esp the Swiss made on the bottom.

Hence my question. Here is a closer shot of the top dial, see lower pic at 9 pm and 10 pm
I am pretty sure this one is real as it is mine. I purchased it from a reputable seller with full papers cards and it keeps time accurately to one second per 24 hour error.

It's not too uncommon with dial variations from Rolex. For some models it's supposedly even a premium (e.g. Daytonas with APH-dials) but I don't think this is the case for Oyster Perpetuals. For OP's question above it might be good to know if above watches are the same reference? And of course rule out that one is a replica...

All photos are from Rolex website. Funny. I have not noticed this before.
Good find. Those show the letter shifting in my two examples.

Be careful those are computer renders and may not accurately depict the watch.

I had the same topic here https://omegaforums.net/threads/how-often-does-rolex-change-dial.112131/#post-1482291

yes there is two different dial.
Here is mine that I bought brand new at the AD, look at the X which is not at the same place Than yours.

if you check on chrono 24, you will find both dial.
Also both same dial on the Rolex web site, so we can definitely say there is two dial variation.

BUT, the second dial you show has really weird minute marker that seems printed... that is not a known variation, looks fake

What does it mean? Not mother langage sorry

dials that have a printing error, font characteristic or prominent feature are often given a nickname like: floating daytona, stick dial, Bart Simpson, double swiss, double red, etc

I am confident my watch is real. I cannot say for sure about the second or lower watch in the first post in this thread.

Interesting to see it on leather, I would like to give a try on a vintage brown leather for mine

It looks great on either black or brown with the former being more formal dress. I prefer a darker brown myself. It is good to see others taking off the stainless steel bracelet. Not too common for the modern Rolex owners.
