Nice bezel on the 66.

FYI, there are 66 with close T and 66 with HF case.
Thanks. I have seen a few HF -66 cases, they have the single bevel on the case-back, right? The -63,-64 and -65 HF cases have the double bevel. Both makers of the -66 have single bevel, as far as I can work out.
These are my favourite Speedy ref and you could base a whole collection around just this reference! It wouldn't be easy, but you'd end up with 5 nice Speedmasters.

Yes I confirm everything in your last message. Indeed one of my favorite reference with 3x 105.012-63, 1x 105.012-65 and 1x 105.012-66 CB/TFL

After years of reading articles on the internet I thought I knew something about these watches. But you guys simply blow my mind.
I find it difficult to see the differences on the lugs. The T Swiss Made differences are clear though. When I compare your pictures to my watch I don't think that I have a CB housing. But I will start a new thread about my watch to avoid littering this thread.
Would love to hear your opinions.

Here's a couple of my 105.012's for comparison of the cases/dials. The one on the left is the 105.012-65 (serial 2400*****), case maker 'HF' and the dial with the closer together 'TSwissT' and thinner hour marker batons, bracelet 1506/16.
On the right the 105.012-66, case maker 'CB' (see second photo showing the flat upper part on the lugs - difficult to see in photos), wider apart 'T Swiss T' and fatter hour baton dial, bracelet 1039/516.
Nice "220" bezel on the 65'! Not the good one for this year but interresting 😉

Just found this in my father's drawer after sitting there for 50 some odd years. Runs like a Gem, I believe it was purchased in the late 60's or early 70's. Any information would be great? Still waiting on a extract from the archives.

Looks like a very nice, correct Speedmaster 105.012-66. Would have been sold around 1967/68 ish. It's best not to run it until it's been serviced, however do not have it serviced by any old watch maker, you need to use someone experienced with these watches so a recommendation from this forum is a necessity and whatever you do do not send it to Omega for a service. It's a very nice watch!

What a great find! It looks like a nice ST105.012-66 with only a replaced crown as far as I can tell. Will need a service, also to sort out the chrono-creep. Others might pick up something I've missed. This DEFINITELY deserves a new thread though.......

From The Moonwatch Only for HF ST105.012-66:

Caliber: Serial of 321 Correct for ST 105.012-66
Caseband: I would have thought it was a CB case (upper right lug) but might just be reflection of light, looks like it has been polished.
Dial: B3 Spaced T
Bezel: DOT 90
Hands: Baton Drop
Caseback: Single Bevel HF66
Crown: Replacement? 32 Wide
Pushers: Wide and short
Crystal: Hesalite
Bracelet: 105/16, 1039/516, 1116/575?

EDIT: I'd start rummaging through your dad's stuff to hopefully try and find the bracelet, box and papers!
Edited:

Regarding Buzz Aldrin`s Speedy, I had a brief look at the "Starmen" clip. If this is the one on Buzz Aldrin`s wrist when he took his first lunar steps, it appears to be CB-cased, and therefore to "new". Apparently parts was taken from the shelf sort of randomly not paying too much attention of the manufacturing period.
