Plenty of people will be following it already no doubt, even more now 😉

Honest question: Is there some unwritten code or protocol I should be observing here with regard to drawing attention to interesting pieces I am not personally invested in? If I see something I think might be noteworthy do I keep schtum and let the collectors have their banquets? Have I broken some rule?

My instinct tells me no harm comes from letting 'market forces' do their grubby function - at the very least it gives the rest if us a better idea of value. But that said I don't want to make myself unwelcome at ΩF 😵‍💫

No harm, plenty of people know about it after a few hours. Not rare to see all Speedmasters at auction have at least a few threads asking/commenting.

Always funny when someone only posts one photo and there is comments about the movement pictures that weren’t shown.

Anyone that thinks no one else has seen a Speedmaster that’s on the Web for more that a hour they are kidding themselves.

Thank you, I hadn't seen that auction and I've been looking for a watch exactly like that! 😉

Your $3000 budget might exclude you. 😉

Hi Dedalus05 .
Many people with a real interest in buying that watch will be following this auction in the hope their bid wins, I feel for those people when a watch at auction like this is put on here if I am being honest. (only my opinion)

I also feel for the people who bag a bargain on eBay and then a few minutes or hours later it is mentioned on here and then the watch is stolen away by someone who has seen it mentioned on here after they offer the eBay seller more for it. (it has happened a few times to me)

I would love to think this great forum is here for everyone to help and learn from each other but I know it has its fair share of people (members and non members) who will crap on you from a great height.

Those comments will probably not be welcome by everyone but it is the truth.

Cheers, Michael

Sold for £10285 with the fees on a hammer price of £8500.

Seems like it could have gone cheaper at one point.. not a lot of bidding action on it. Congrats to the new owner though!

I came to post the same and wondered if anyone snagged it. Seemed a fair price in my humble unknowledgeable opinion.
Also looking to ask the hive mind if ~£800 was a fair price for lot 18 considering the 1035 bracelet?

Certainly seems a decent deal on Lot 18. I missed that one!

I was also watching Lot 15 as it appeared to be the RAF Omega 6B/159 with possibly a skimmed back but there was oddly no photo of the case back.

Darn it. I had half an eye on that one (Lot 15), but got my dates mixed up. Thought the auction was tomorrow.

Seems to me 8.5k sterling is a pretty good deal on the full-set Ed White. That kind of provenance has got to be worth a few bob.

EDIT - Ah, £10285 after fees. Still tho.

It was indeed. I was in the bidding but hesitated and it was gone.
