Love the Patek but cannot fathom how the subdials work, apart from the date. What else is being measured? What are 1,2.3,4 in the month dial and what are 12,18,24,6 in the day dial? It's beautiful yet baffling...
1234 is which year in the leap year cycle it is.
The other is a 24 hour clock, like GMT

It’s a perpetual calendar watch so it’s measuring leap year and also a 24 hour dial. Most PC watches have certain times on when not to set the moon phase, month, day, etc so the 24 hour clock is to let you know if your watch is on am or pm.

The question was posed hypothetically so here goes:

Dress watch: Who says you can't wear a chronograph?
