I go to a gym regularly, and live in a very liberal neighborhood. There was one guy who insisted on wearing a MAGA hat during his workouts. I thought it was incredibly offensive and inconsiderate. I was itching to get into it with him at the slightest provocation

You didn't explain a thing. You just made a statement about the mere existence of a hat as being incredibly offensive. You didn't explain why it was offensive. You just made a blanket statement. It may be offensive to you but to the majority of the electorate the MAGA hat is the opposite of offensive.
Either you didn’t carefully read, or you believe that symbols do not have the potential to evoke a different set of responses based on the audience. Apologies if you were unable to deduce that the gym clientele, politically, was reflective of the neighborhood.

I would further add that you are either intentionally overlooking, or oblivious to the point of my post, which was to reach a hand across the isle, regardless of differences. Focusing on the hat is missing the bigger picture.

I hear the pitter patter of moderator feet coming to lock this thread, as it is clearly drifting into murky waters…

Wish I'd bought a Seamaster 300 when I was in Singapore in 1965, but ran low on funds after too many nights having fun at the Offshore Land Club.

Sounds like someone had their priorities straight 👍
