I don't think famous not sure at this stage, lets say a decent golfer.
Ok for interest sake the real story behind this.Nothing to do with another women.
I collect watches, occasionally ill get in my car and take a drive around to nearby towns and approach jewellery boutiques etc and ask if they have any old watches (as even though not being a watchmakers they do get approached daily to do battery changes etc) he is doing nothing with as id like to buy. I went into a small jewelers in a small shop around 15 miles from my place, the owner said "he hated working with watches" as he was basically a jeweler setting diamonds making rings etc, said he had a box full of crap broken watches if i was interested, got his assistant to get the box as he was busy in the back, she put the box on the counter and started going through it, i shouted to the chap id give him 30USD for the box he replied 'deal" obviously i didn't want the assistant going through the box and wanted to leave just in case something nice turned up lol..so said i was in a hurry and left...i am talking a decent size cardboard box full, i get home and it's like Christmas! anyway around 250 pieces of 99% junk quartz, lorus, tempo a few fake seikos all crap and lots of ladies watches too mostly quartz with a few vintage manual winds but nothing special ....oris etc
so i get near the bottom and the first find is a first edition 1985 citizen promaster aqualand in VGC the one with the depth meter sticking out the one side of the case but not working, i have some batteries lying around so i pop 3x in and the watch works 100%, i scratch some more and find a Technos sky diver divers watch from the 1960's orange dial big watch, i give a quick shake and it works and i am really chuffed with this one as i collect divers, then i find a mens titanium and sterling silver bracelet with 8 x small diamonds worth around 1000usd and right at the bottom of the box lies the bullhead at first i though old seiko bullhead i get my glasses and the rest is history..happy days these finds don't happen often and i have been doing this for 10 years...my last decent find was a rolex red datejust big bubbleback from 1953 around 3 years back i pad 300usd for and sold to a chap in hong kong for 4000usd...excuse the grammar !
