Sold my X-33 Skywalker LE 318.92.45.79.03.001 a couple of weeks ago. Looks like I should've held on to it. I bought it new and it stayed in the box unworn until I sold it for the same price I bought for a few years ago. Should've checked here first.

As nice as the X-33 Skywalker is, it's not the model that's used on the ISS, including the latest SpaceX mission so doesn't quite have the same appeal as the Gen2 for the space fans. For non-space fans, well... 😀

Well that makes me feel a little better that I didn't leave so much on the table 😀 Nevertheless, I am seeing much higher asking prices for the X-33 Skywalker LE than I used to see a couple of months ago. Maybe Gen2 is giving X-33 Skywalker some reflected attention?

Wouldn’t it be cool if this ended up being the first watch BACK to the moon 😀

Not entirely accurate. Quite a number of ISS citizens use the Skywalker. It's how I developed my own interest a few years ago. Prices for the Skywalker have come up considerably on the second hand market as well.

Gratuitous shot following a battery replacement a couple of days ago:

Its not qualified for EVA, still only classic moonwatch is, so low chances for that.

Thanks for sharing, that’s interesting! What I understood, quartz watch would not be able to withstand the temperature outside of base or spacecraft.

assuming that NASA will be first back on the moon, I’m curious too what watch they will qualify to be a new moonwatch. Will it be an Omega? Will it be on cal 3861? I did not see in recent photos outside of ISS any watch on the NASA astronauts wrists. Only inside ISS and Dragon they used x-33 gen2

I stand corrected then 👍. Guess that would make sense since it's ESA qualified.

Interesting, may be well below the tolerances tested by the ESA regarding temperature.

250F to -250F is outside the testing parameters the X33-G3 was put through.

It looks cool though, and really is useful. Though I have never max'd out using all three PETs, I use them pretty often as I have a lot of conferences and conference calls.

The 3291.50 Gen 2 is my daily. Extremely light and comfortable. I often make use of the UTC function so that’s always the default digital screen. Love it!
Nice Omega 😀

Same with the digital Speedy. I remember seeing these at really low prices.
Now if you even see them for sale, they are through the roof.
I bought and sold a Mark III at $1500 now they are never that low.

Are you every worried about the water resistance?

Not for what I use it for. I work indoors so the most water contact I would be in with the watch would be in the bathroom. For water activities, I grab my divers or my trusty Gshock. Plus the 50m resistance, as long as it’s pressure tested after service, should cover any water incidents I would run into.

Skywalker is up there with ESA Astronauts (Germany/France/UK etc). U.S. Astronauts still use Gen2s..

I'm probably one of the few that's pleased to see Gen 2 X-33 prices creeping up. Looking to sell my Gen 2 to swap to the X-33 Skywalker in the next few weeks.

I recently got a gen 1 with a 1666C module . Thankfully Omega is no longer automatically “upgrading “ the crown and pushers during a service.
Many gen 1 were modded in this way and I wanted the original one . I had one years ago at half the price of what I paid but when you look at comparable titanium watches their still a bargain that are becoming rarer and will soon not trade as often .

I got one in 2020 I think out of Japan (full set) for well under what they are trading at now.

I specifically wanted (and got) the Gen 1 version. I like the "traditional" crown, despite the Gen 2 crown making more sense on this watch, and also the read "airplane" icons on the bezel, despite the glowing dot being more practical...

Goes nice with my flight suit!
