Good morning, Forum. I’m reaching out for your help with a question I have about my first-generation Omega X-33.

I bought this watch about three years ago. When it arrived, I took it to Omega to have it serviced. When they returned it to me, I hadn’t noticed this issue: the hour hand is different from the original one.

I suppose that when they service the watch and replace the movement—as is common with these watches—they also “update” some other components, such as the hands in this case. If you could help me confirm this or have any other information, I would appreciate it.

I'm attaching a couple of photos showing the current hands on the watch and the ones Omega sent back to me after servicing.

Thank you all,

Ernesto

I have been told by staff at my local Omega Boutique that they always replace the hands in a quartz watch as part of the service. I'm not sure if that holds for mechanical watches as well. I've also heard that the reason for doing so is to prevent deteriorating lume from flaking off and entering the movement.

My 2. gen was serviced by Omega Bienne last year. Hands, pushers, crown, gaskets etc were exchanged, got the old ones back.
My new hour hand looks like the old one, without lume in the arrow head. I don't think I ever have seen any with lume in the arrow head, like yours. Strange 🤷‍♂️

I can confirm that my first-generation Omega X-33 watch, which was serviced and had a new movement installed, has been replaced with new pushers, crown, hands, and hands that are identical to the original ones, featuring the perforate arrow. Additionally, they have sent back all the previous parts to me.
