Omega WWW redial?

Good morning,

I was offered an Omega military which looks to me like a redial or at least relumed The number 5 on the dial looks different to what I found and the plots are not as clean but on the other hand the hands fit colourwise. The serial is 1068xxxx and the crown is not correct for sure in my opinion.

Any experts words on this example?

Kind regards

Max

So something that was done as a part of service for an MoD issued piece?

IMO just a poor redial. There are several things wrong, but the easiest to spot is the broad arrow.

MoD used these pointed A dials as well as different hands when issued watches needed replacements. Still genuine and authentic but not first issue. Here's the Omega entry from a WWW page that's no longer active, unfortunately:

Rarity: very common.
Those interested in acquiring one of these watches should pay careful attention to the dial and try to get one with an original dial.

  • Look carefully at the fonts of the numbers (especially the '7'). Make sure there is NO 'hook' to the font of the '7'.
  • Make sure the subsiduary seconds dial is a 'step down' (i.e is placed at a lower level to the surface of the other part of the dial).
  • Make sure the font of the 'A' in the word OMEGA on the dial has a flat top and NOT a pointed top.
There are many versions of this dial and the original is the most sought after by collectors.

Best,
Mark

That’s not a mod dial sorry. That’s just a horrible redial.

Cheers
