For a cursory check it seems to work reasonably well, although the database is known for inaccuracies and omissions.

Below is an example of the information regarding a model number 166.0168.

The only way to be really sure for a specific watch is to obtain an extract from the archives.

Through the website no. Through extract of archives maybe since their records for matching a specific 321 movement number to a specific case ref. is incomplete. I suspect the upcoming speedmaster book discussed here in the forum will give specific cal. 321 serial number ranges for each of the speedmaster case references - and presumably the ones that fall out of this range originated in seamaster cases (at least the ones that date from the late 50s through the 60s).

    Hi,

If you are refering to Moonwatch Only, we will indeed provide a range of OBSERVED s/n for the Speedmaster case references with 321 calibre, but, we will not indicate which are to Seamasters and which to Speedmasters. Simply because data are missing at Omega archives regarding calibres 320 and 321 (and other produced by Lemania) until around 1964 and it would be a much tooooooo long work after 1964.
