Omega Watches without "Swiss Made" on dial

So I've been looking at a bunch of older Omega models and I've noticed some say "Swiss Made" on the dial and others don't. Is there a reason? Like could the dial or watch not be original? Was "Swiss Made" introduced later?

Some older models have only "SWISS". I know this has been discussed before, so there is info on OF about when/ where to expect it.

If the dial is missing Swiss/Swiss Made, it is either very old (forties or older) or redialed.

Thanks @timecube ! @ConElPueblo my reference was the Omega 3971s, which was a late 50s watch. I see some with the "Swiss Made" and others without.

Radial dial alaska project watches dont have swiss made on the dials.

One thing to add here is I used to own an old 9ct gold geneve which I thought lacked the Swiss Made despite the fact I was 99.9% it was not a redial. On removing the movement from the case I discovered it was indeed there but hidden by the crystal.

Perhaps the crystal had been replaced with a wider tension ring than the original had. Not exactly sure the reason as that watch is long gone now but thought worth a mention.

Watches were being redialled long before any of us were born.

And that one is a redial.

Jim is right. I have a gold cap Seamaster that my mother gave my father for his wedding gift in 1959. Redial.

On a different note, all the 3971s I've seen on Google images didn't have the Swiss Made.

Many of the ones I just looked at on Google had either Swiss, Swiss Made, or nothing.

Sometimes it can be due to the profile of the square crystal hiding the text, other times it may not be there.
