wanted to introduce myself as a long time lurker, but most definitely obsessed with Omega watches, especially from the 50s and 60s. in my current search for a RAF Omega, i came across this one. anyone have any insight into this? the dial looks like a Thin Arrow '53, but I noticed the Swiss Made looks a little funky. Is this a Franken? Or a redial?

Sorry. Looks like a pristine aftermarket dial not lumed in radium. The movement is incorrect as well. Should be caliber 283, movement in the 13xxx range, circa 1953.

 

Its a fake. Everything is wrong about it.

 

thanks for the confirmation. i was thinking the same but was tempted to buy it for the dial. just didnt feel right. no need to apologize, to me at least. hope anyone bidding realizes what they are bidding on.

Yup, I bought a fake like this one from a junk shop for 45 Euros thinking I had a bargain...of course turned to disappointment. I later posted it on eBay Germany clearly stating I was selling it on as "definitively unbranded", broken, questionable, and even the case didn't appear to match the movement as it rattled a bit....some fella still stabbed the BIN for 50 Euros....Was that bad of me?
