Merry Christmas Everyone,

I recently acquired this omega tank t17 (late 30s?).

I was very excited to add one of those to my collection and waited for a long time for the right condition one to land in my hands. I realized these rarely come with clean dials.

Once I got I however, upon handlens inspection, I have serious doubts about the authenticity of the dial 🙁 the OMEGA font looks sketchy, same goes for some of the minute tracks tickers. My guess is it’s at best a well refinished/restored dial.

I would appreciate input from more experienced members.

These ultra-macro shots enhance the slightest imperfections...
I lean towards original.
the very fine "brushing/graining" of the surface is very hard to obtain by restorers.
Logo and font are OK for the era but print is not the best. We must keep in mind that QC was not as serious in those times as it is today...
