Menta selling Flightmasters, it signals @styggpyggeno1 is one step closer to a lavish retirement.

Shouldn't all the red hands be pointing in the same direction?:) That piece is a bit confused.

It looks to be a great unpolished radial finish cased 145.036. The original dial is in superb condition.

If it were mine it be sent straight off for a sevice as you can see that the o-ring has perished, so I'd guess that's the first time the caseback has been off.

OP - Do you recall what the selling price was?

the case has been refinished but was advertised as "unpolished". The original factory finish is very difficult to do as you have radiating lines from the center. This watchcase was put on a lathe and the finish even though very appealing, was done in such a way. I will post tomorrow one with no doubt as to factory finish.
    Below seller's description:
    Description
Up for grabs is an Omega Flightmaster, Ref. 145.036, circa 1970s. This example is in amazing condition, the best we’ve ever seen, with an unpolished case, and perfect dial and lume. The watch comes fitted on its original, steel Omega-signed bracelet."

    As above.

If by radial you mean sunburst then that ain’t a radial finish, it has been polished in line with the circumference. Watch looks like a collection of NOS parts in a refinished case to me. To be fair I don’t know what the original finish should be, just commenting on the radial description.

That was my first thought too. It looks too new, I would expect an untouched 40 year old watch to look a bit dull or tarnished but without any marks of any kind on it. This looks like it came straight out if the factory.

By radial I mean circular. As we know, the flightmaster came in two finishes, sunburst (also known as starburst), which I assumed was the more common straight lined brushed case, and radial which by the powers of deduction I assumed to be circular.
Googling it doesn't help either as there are many conflicting pictures and both finishes being referred to as radial and vice versa.

If it were NOS parts then why has the o-ring gone to mush? That's usually a good indicator that a watch has been around for a while and unopened.

There does appear to be a starburst finish immediatley outside the crystal.

Both finishes have that on the top edge.

You can clearly see from zoomed in photos that the case finish is circular.

I still think it's all original.

Hey everyone! First of all, i am far from a FM expert, and would undoubtedly say a lot (probably most) of you here know more about them than i do...i have small, girly wrists, so they never really appealed to me, as they are practically unwearable (for me). that being said, i have sold a few of them, and IMHO -- and based on seeing/handling quite a fair share of polished ones -- this one was certainly unpolished. this watch came to me on consignment from a local collector who meticulously only collected NOS/LNOS/super mint watches (you can see a couple of his 70s el primeros in my archive as well, also in stellar condition). -Adam
