Unlike many of the other Japanese Omegas, the 166.155 definitely hasn't propagated out of its home market much at all, with very little information on this reference existing outside of Japanese websites. The Omega vintage database carries no entry for the 166.155, and examples on the usual sites are few and far between.

Even more surprisingly, until I posted a silver dial example in the Omegaforums recommended vintage watches thread, there had been no mention ever of this reference in the history of the forum. [..]

It’s really beautiful, and that exact watch in the header is for sale right now for $712.

incidentally this is the first time anyone has actually posted anything even mentioning the reference ST166.155 anywhere on watch forums. It’s never been seen on OF, WUS, TZ, anything before. The only discussions have probably been in Japanese before now.

It’s rather bizarre when you think about us being around and discussing everything for 11 years here and then we find a new Omega that nobody has seen or mentioned before ever outside of its homeland.

Yeah! But also great though. Means there is still the joy of finding things out to be had.

I envy the Japanese. So many interesting japan edition watches, omega and non-omega alike.

Yea they certainly got dealt a good hand, there’s actually another related watch to this one I’ll probably be covering on Saturday night that similarly hasn’t been seen anywhere before but is quite cool too

That price is actually a little ambitious considering how little they've gone for in the recent past, but it does look to be in beautiful shape and freshly serviced as well.
