48 year anniversary Apollo 11 60 year anniversary of Speedmaster Very Well Done Omega https://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/starmen/
I liked it. Yes, it's derivative of everything we've seen before. But it was well packaged and still interesting. Both Aldrin and Clooney seem very natural in front of the camera. Regular Joes, not actors reading a script (which I'm sure they were). I guess they're used to it by now. But they make you feel like you could sit and have a beer with them.
I expected the announcement of a "new" watch... I saw a picture in German "Armbanduhren" magazine - a black (probably) step dialed Moonwatch with the old Omega Logo...
I agree, very well done. Sure, it's meant to help Omega sell watches, but in an admirably understated way.
I just wanted Clooney to shut the hell up for one second. He dominated the conversation. Buzz was the character I wanted to hear from. With that being said, I still watched it twice...hahaha
I actually got a bit choked up, not sure exactly why. But I think that the film combined the naive, childish wonderment angle with the "Christ those guys were amazingly brave" angle of the Moon Landings so well, along with the fact that Buzz is one of a rapidly dying breed....or maybe I'm just a soppy old sod. Buzz and Neil are amongst the greatest Heroes of my lifetime up there with Ali from my point of view
Yeah, I thought Clooney was slightly uncomfortable throughout - almost nervous, or maybe starstruck. It was like he was concerned about awkward silences and so rushed to fill them, rather than allow Buzz the time and space to elaborate. Interesting nonetheless...
I got the email from Omega and thought a new watch called starmen? interesting, then saw it was a movie. I enjoyed that little gem. Yes nothing new but hey too see GC in awe of Mr Aldrin was good to see. Not sure NASA would have allowed all those rings on Apollo, Buz, lol. more rings than Saturn! "We really needed to know the time in Houston Texas on the moon" I think that's Buz code for any wrist watch was useless on the moon and not needed.
