    I know of a dealer who has this piece. It is a rather interesting one but I myself lack the lure to this very old time piece. I like the function and look of a dial but when it begins to serve as a canvas for art I scratch my head.

    If the case is not Ref. 2041 (which likely doesn't have a reference number inside the case at all), I'd be very concerned about authenticity.

    What are the very faint scratched numbers on the inside of the caseback? I have seen these on other watches

    Service marks made by watchmakers as proof they worked on the watch.

    The eBay watch from the original poster looks good and correct to me. Some of the others in this thread...not so sure.
