Hi, I left my Speedmaster X-33 (gen1) with my local watchmaker to replace the battery but he’s lost the contact spring that’s sits below the battery.

Below is a picture I’ve borrowed from another OF thread (thanks to @cicindela).

I’m asking if anyone can advise where I can source a replacement spring. Thanks in advance, Paddy

If your watchmaker has an Omega parts account they can probably order a replacement from Omega.

If they don't, I would expect them to source (from somewhere) and replace the missing part.

You could send it to Omega, or an Omega accredited watchmaker to make good, but they will have to charge for a full service as they will not stand by any unauthorised servicing that they could be held liable for if problems develop.

Thanks Jim, he’s a competent watch maker but unfortunately doesn’t have an Omega parts account which is why I’m reaching out here. I know that these movements tend to be replaced as opposed to repaired so it could be that someone has a spring from a replaced movement that’s no longer needed - probably the best case scenario!!

I thought I might have had one from a previous service.

Unfortunately not. maybe your watchmaker could fashion one from a soft springbar spring?
I know it's not ideal, but needs must as they say.
