I am currently going under a major overhaul of my collection and I need to make some room for some incomings. It is with a very heavy heart this one is on the chopping block. I thought this one would be with me forever, but such is life.

    - Rare 1968 Transitional model with applied logo, stepped dial, and cal861 movement.
    - Amazing perfect dial with intact and patinated lume plots. I don't think you will find a better dial with even lume on another 68'.
    - DO90 bezel with quite a bit of wear, which adds character to this tool watch imo.
    - Original hesalite glass with the logo. In fantastic condition.
    - Hands are all correct with beautiful and even aged tritium.
    - No major dings or scratches on the case. Looks to be lightly polished in the past but the asymmetrical lugs remain sharp and thick with nice original brushing on the case.
    - Movement is very clean. Running strong, all functions work as they should. Service history is unknown.

    What's included:
    145.022-68 Head
    GLC.it navy racing strap

Asking price is $8400 now $7700 shipped and insured in the CONUS

I accept Paypal friends, bank wire, or f2f in Washington/Baltimore area. Free shipping in the CONUS. International shipping to be discussed.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

So, should I be upset that the member is selling this watch for a lot higher than he bought it from me just a few months back? Absolutely not. This is the fun of buying and selling. GLWS.

@250scr Thanks. I do not control the market, I am just listing it at what I think a fair price is based on speedmaster101 and the market. I am very sad to see this one go, but with some of my current acquisitions I would rather this go to a new good home where it will get the love it deserves.

I am very happy for you to make a profit. I know I did not get the same support when I bought a watch from a member, then tried to sell it a month later for more as I had other items I wanted. Again, good luck.

Obviously the seller can do whatever s/he wants, but I've always thought that within the OF community, there would be a bit more in the way of...disclosure? I don't know if that is the right word, but since the seller bought this from @250scr it seems that the bezel has been changed out, the 1171 bracelet with 633 endlinks has been replaced with a leather band...and I also thought maybe the seller would say "hey, bought this recently from a OF member" - the way the seller wrote the ad, it makes it sound like s/he has had it forever....and a (at least) $2k bump?
    Anyway -
    My 2 cents.

@wkimmd The bezel came on the watch when purchased from 250. I did not purchase any bracelets from him during the transaction. The market has also changed since I purchased it months ago, verified by how the prices seem to go up almost monthly on speedmaster101.

If I offended the community in any way, I apologize for that. Anyway I will just withdraw the sale here. Again sorry if I upset anyone.

I am not offended, @Kali77. I just remember seeing this for sale by @250scr and it might be that you had different terms of sale (including what was in the sale, and price) than what was posted on OF a few months ago; so I don't know all the details. So if I have to apologize for anything, it is that I, of course, don't have all the information; only what I can gather from this thread and the previous sales thread. That was the point of my post - it is hard to know exactly what is happening without disclosure, people (including me) will start making assumptions as that is human nature; assumptions will usually end up taking it to a less than positive place. That is my only point.

I'm really baffled as to why people on this forum feel empowered to just crap all over someone's FS post as they see fit. I have no dog in this fight, but the seller did NOTHING wrong. He did not misrepresent the watch in any way, what he bought it for or whom he bought it form is completely irrelevant. This type of take down is unnecessary and can be damaging to one's reputation on the Forum. If you have grievance or issue, PM the seller or a Mod prior to airing it out in the open.

I recognized the watch and knew of its prior sale, but didn't feel compelled to comment.

I completely understand your point. I should of noted it was purchased here months ago I suppose. With that being said I have sold many watches that have then been flipped or went up in price shortly after and resold. Would I go back to all my old sales and state what the price was or intervene in the sale? Nope. Good for that person is the way I see it.

If someone does not like a price of a watch they are interested in they can always make an offer or not. Either way it really is a moot point now as the watch is withdrawn and will go back into the box for a bit.

Mods please feel free to lock this down at any point. No point in letting this drag out to what will most certainly just become a shit show and opinions.

@ATWG you are right. I was sharing my opinion in response to @250scr’s post, but someone’s sales thread is the wrong place to do that. @Kali77 did not misrepresent anything at all, and I want to make that incredibly clear. Apologies to @Kali77 for the activity on your FS thread.

Thanks all, no harm done from my point of view. I’ll just hang onto it for awhile. Was not in a hurry to see her go.

Last thing I was trying to do was upset the community. Have a nice evening/day/etc..

Back up for sale with a price reduction, as I just came across a grail. Now $7700 firm. If you don't like the price that is fine just look at the last three 68's that sold on here. I believe my price to be fair. Please feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions.

Extract of the archives has been ordered as well a few days ago and will be provided to the new owner upon arrival.
