i'm not particular a modern speedmaster variant fan, but this whole debacle is very interesting to understand the dynamics in the modern watch world. have bloggers like Fratello assumed that much power controlloing consumer demand over Omega. it will be interesting to see if how many of these pop up on re-sale soon after too - is the online sales channel going to recoup that first level of profits? why only 2000, when Omega as a watch company could sell more? by estimation this is the sign of the times, the decline of boutiques, and the continued of the internet celebrity sites and personalities.
And there in a nutshell is a post totally missing the point about the creation of demand by the limitation of the issue size. Witness FOIS vs CK2998 vs Snoopy. Unlimited, ~3000 made, ~2000 made The first trades at around $3000, the second ~$6000 and the third $9000+. Coincidence?

Strange post.

And like it or not these "internet celebrity sites" are a the reason collecting is so interesting, engaging and informed.

And stating Fratello is assuming power - please.

And I don't care how they sold the watch. I don't have a Twitter or Instagram etc but I loved the design of the watch and purchased because if it's aesthetics not because it was a speedy Tuesday or whatever.

Same here! Having it be a limited edition watch adding icing on the cake, but the primary reason I want this watch is it's the best looking Speedy IMO.

I received an e-mail earlier from Arthur informing me that they can deliver the #SpeedyTuesday in my selected boutique even if it is not included in the choices of delivery. Good news from Omega!

Damn I should have grabbed that one, it's my son's bday! I'm selfish I went for my own bday as I'll be turning 40 this Summer 0621

cheers all

A trading thread might work? I have a low number (0075) but only because 0211 (my birthday) and 1011 (my son's) were unavailable

I think that's going to be rather difficult and complicated as well as risky, after you get them you can trade or whatever but the fraud risk is too great for us to have people doing pre-trades on watches they don't possess.

Is anyone else here more interested in this watch's accessories, namely the Omega-branded leather watch roll rather than the watch itself?

I'm not more excited about the accessories, but the black and white NATO is calling my name!

I love the look of this watch, but movement-wise, I don't see the allure of a handwinding cam-operated non vertical clutch chronograph without a date. I much prefer the Holy Grail 376.0822 or even a nice 321 column wheel example.

Only in the sense of how much they'll Rob me for a replacement leather strap when the time comes

The spacing of the subdials seems to be rather crowded, do yall think so too?

No. Design looks perfect to me. Check out some of the wrist watch photos to get a better idea.
