Does anyone know how many “waiting listers” got watches?

Did any forum members on the waiting list get a watch?

I am still sceptical as to the truth of a true waiting list - ie the first on the list get offered watches first. People of this forum (and no criticism to them) seemed to pick watches up after having hit the list a day or two in - wtf???

I now laugh at my WIS behaviour - was refreshing madly for people who passed after 24 hours and then got on the waiting list within 15 minutes of it going live. I thought I was in a pretty good position to get a watch - but no nothing happened.

At least the waiting list gave Omega all my details for their future marketing campaign......

On a positive - this forum found me a watch 1345/2012 at list price - just bcos fellow OF members look after other members without the need to flip

Wearing it as I type and it will be a keeper

Black gloss leather strap dresses the watch up very well.

Yes indeed, actually its a dark blue original Omega strap 😉

The watch I picked up last week had a number 01** so apparently they where not delivered according to their numbers. My thoughts on it: Cheap box although easy to store. I Also think the watch should have been delivered with a bracelet. The leather strap feels less “premium” than I would like. Fortunately I had 1171 in my collection. But still: The watch is an absolute beauty!

I had a polite reminder last week from OB in London to pick up or let it go. They are so super good. Am genuinely on travel. So a big shout out to them for their patience.

A couple of posts ago - Feb 24th - I had a bit of a rant about the failings of the waiting list.....

Well earlier this week London - Regent Street said I was next on the list for a ST and it was ready to collect.......the OB couldn’t have been nicer.

I explained I got one through a forum (no names as have slight paranoia for a possible blacklist - lol) and said please pass to next person in list.

Fair play to Omega - the waiting list works

Never thought I would say that......

Having on the waitlist for too late in the game, I knew I'd have to buy a Speedy Tuesday second hand. Prices of late seem to have been on the higher side of the range, but I was able to get one at a more competitive price. Finally this week, on Tuesday no less, I was able to purchase one. Received it on Thursday and I'm very happy with the watch. First thing that needs to happen is I need to get it on a new strap.

Curious how much you ended up paying for it?

Still curious about the waiting list system. I'm on the waiting list but not hoping for much.

I think they probably prioritize repeat customers over just going straight down the list in order of application

Not so. I have never bought from a boutique in my life, and three weeks ago I got a call from one of the London boutiques asking me if I wanted one that one of the customers with a reservation had passed up.

I missed out on the pre-order but was fortunate enough to purchase one from a friend who no longer wanted it. Like many others I was not a fan of the leather strap and although I had a brand new 1171 sitting around I opted for the black snoopy strap. 27497849_1656684937700067_582912302_n_zpsw0udk0ci.jpg [/IMG]

So when I moved for mine I saw one at a well know grey dealer listed for about $9000. Now I'm seeing another well know grey dealer listing one for... $10,000. Yes, that is the higher end and still a few cheaper ones out there, but I'm glad I moved when I did.

Would I buy one? Yes, I would. Would I pay more than list? Ummm... no. I just can't do it.

Don't know if the seller still has it but noticed somebody on TZUK trying to sell a brand new one for £4,750 and still unsold after a couple of days. Decent enough opportunities right now for those that are prepared to pay a little above list. Have they now bottomed out? Possibly but who knows. If you contact some AD's who knows you could get lucky as I have read of a few having success that way lately, guess a few cancelled when they realised they weren't so easy to profit on anymore.

That's not how it works. Any cancellations are offered to the next person on the waiting list. Boutiques and AD's don't sell them to just anyone who contacts them on the off chance of them having one in stock.

I've definitely read recently of people getting them that way, think it the watch is already with the AD they try and move it before returning it.

It would help if you could tell us where you read about AD's selling them to joe public, and which AD's they are. I'm sure Omega would like to know.
