Omega Speedmaster Ref. 145.0022 Discussion and Advice

There was a limited edition Speedmaster with a white dial put out for the Italian market in 1997, but it was not a 145.022:

It also had a display case back and the 1863 decorated movement. You don’t show the movement picture and your case does not have a serial number on it. I suspect your watch is a standard 145.022 and someone sourced a service dial and hands from this limited edition back in the day and made a Frankenwatch because they liked the look. That was pretty common and easy 25-30 years ago when eBay got started and before Omega clamped down on their parts accounts. You good easily buy these white dials or even Snoopy dials and replace the ones in your watch.

If you like the look, it’s fine. But purists won’t like it AND it has no more value than a standard Speedy Pro 145.022.

The caseback is a service caseback. The dial is an albino Speedmaster 40th anniversary 'italy bianco' dial, but probably a mod, because the original had a display caseback. And this one also has the black handset. 90's bezel, 90's bracelet so maybe a modded 3590.50 or 3570.50 if I had to guess.

These dial & hands are pretty rare though so it seems quite a good deal to me if you're interested in a modded watch.

Could it be original? Maybe someone cracked the display caseback in the past... and there are only 500 of them.
