Hi guys, as the title says, I am after a Omega Speedmaster Reduced 3510.50 3220 movement. I dropped a reduced off with my watch maker and he said he cannot find parts for it so I will have to source another movement. Do these pop up for sale often?

Yes, thats my plan but when I went to collect the watch it was in pieces and 'not ready'. I also wanted to take it to omega and I got a quote and he indicated he was cheaper, thus why I went to him. When he gave me a quote it was $400 more.

Wtf. Is there any way you can have him assemble the watch so that you can take it to omega instead?

I dropped off two reduced that I picked up recently. I contacted omega first and I was quoted $1100 for a service including all parts each. However, I ran this by my watch maker and he indicated he could perform the services cheaper. I was stunned and confused when I got the first quote of $1540. I told him not to proceed with either service and indicated I would be collecting both watches. I went back two times and on both occasions one of the watches was not reassembled. I will try again next week, but yeah this is very fraustrating. Not a great intruduction into reduced either, they seem to have a lot of issues with pushers and water incursion. Both watches were bought off Japanese Yahoo and both sellers kept mum about quite a few issues.
