Omega Speedmaster Reduced 3510.50 Bracelet Won't Lock

I just got a secondhand speedy reduced and am having some trouble with the locking clasp. When I put it on my wrist and just press down, it makes a clicking noise but does snap closed. If I take it off my wrist and push the top and bottom pieces together, it locks just fine. The only way I can get it to close on my wrist is by putting a finger under the bracelet while I push down with my thumb. Is this the normal way this closes? If not, what's the issue here?

It depends on the shape of your wrist and the type of clasp.
Some people have "rounder" wrists, some have flatter ones.
Round wrists support the clasp for closing, flat wrists may not.
I have a couple of Omegas that need support underneath to lock the clasp, Speedmaster X-33 for example.

I also have a Seamaster Heritage and have never had this issue. The other thing I noticed is that when I use the micro adjustment, the end of the clasp droops down because it’s not gripping anything. The only way I can see to fix that is take out links, but then what is the point of the micro adjuster?
