    Hi all,

I am looking to purchase this 1999 Omega Speedmaster Professional - 3872.50.01 with Watch Number 48367395.

There is a small Omega logo etched in the middle of the hesalite chrystal, and the watch number matching the card appears on the back of the watch.

I've attached some photos - and your opinion on authenticity or other areas to check for authenticity would be much appreciated!!

Thank you so much in advance

Yes looks genuine to me. Look up pictures of the speedmaster movement online and you will see it is correct. If the fakers have got it this good then I would be worried!

    What made you have concerns?

Thank you!!!! because there are so many variations of speedmaster pros, I just wasn't too sure of the small details which may indicate it not being genuine. It is from a private seller and so I thought I would double check with the watch enthusiasts!!

The warranty card itsef doesnt appear to have an address of the shop purchased, and I read somewhere that it should have the address on the card.... Just little things like that which made me want to check twice before purchasing it this week!

def legit ... main hands prob. changed at one time (which should not be a prob. as this watch wont be a collector's item anyway) ... I even like the T-dial and how it is patinating ...

so if you are ok with the price def. go for it

Hands changed? I have a twin to this watch which I acquired new in 1999, and it is original and untouched in every way. The hands on the subject watch appear to be the same as mine!

Oh ok! Hmmm... Should I be worried the movement of your watch looks different from the one I would like to get?

The only difference I see is the fact that the movement in mine is gold plated, while yours is nickel plated. Many of these with the glass back were fitted with the fancier looking movement.

The movement is rhodium plated...it's a little more upscale than nickel plate.

The reference number inside the case back of mine is 345.0808, caliber 863, 48,260,xxx. Chronomaddox lists this watch as equipped with bracelet 3592.50 after 1989. I ordered my Speedmaster in early 1990, but had to wait several months for it. I checked the bracelet it came with, and that model number doesn't show up anywhere on it.

I just noticed the error in my previous post. I showed the date 1999. That SHOULD read 1990!

The tritium on the hands don't change color at the same rate as the plots on the dial. My 3590 is all original as well and the looks the same as the OP.

I wouldn't be worried, I would pull the trigger on the watch, if it's appropriately priced and is appealing to you. It looks to be a fine example. These references are readily available in the market right now, but have been increasing in value over the past year or so.

3592.50 (35925000) is the reference number of the watch, not the bracelet. FYI the bracelet is listed as a 1498/840, but there may have been others.

    Cheers, Al

Yours is newer. Hence your lume is also less aged.
