Hello everyone,

Last night I suddenly got a crave for this timepiece. Months ago I heard about its existence and I snubbed it mercilessly with a "pff, if I want a Quartz LCD I'll get a Casio for 30€". Yesterday, however, I started to get seriously interested in this Speedmaster, a little bit profane, precursor of the X33 and with a minimal and retro style that fascinates me a lot.

It would be my first Quartz in the collection and my first purchase after the VC Overseas (after which I went into a crisis, not wanting any other watch). At the moment, in addition to the Vacheron I have in my collection a Longines Hydroconquest, a vintage Constellation from 1956, a Speedmaster Professional from 2016 and an Explorer (2020). I think it would fit nicely into the collection.

I would like to ask you experts a few questions.
- What is your general opinion about the watch?
- How difficult and expensive would be to fix the LCD if the crystals would need to be maintenanced in the future? - - There appear to be a few for sale with a price range between 3 and 4k. I found this NOS example selling for 4k, but I have some doubts about the box, since other specimens of this reference often came with a red box. Also, is the price reasonable?

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Enzo

The good old days.. too bad I was still a student back then. The current times are very painful for watch lovers 🙁

I have got a speedmaster quartz, with a different case.
Only issue, is that the LCD started to fade and is no more readable. I've search for a 1620 movement replacement for ages (4 years...)
So be sure that the watch is perfectly working, piece of it are scarces...

I like these very much. They are quite a bit smaller than the the original Speedy Pro though. The movement and display can still be fixed by specialists and Omega still have most parts if you send it to them.
I would say that 4K for a nos one is a decent price.

I've got the LCD. It is small and flat. Not sure if it is big enough for you. All of your watches are one size bigger than the LCD.
Glas and mask behind are two parts. I'm not sure if the mask doesn't get a little bit damaged when changing the Glas. Also the movement needs a specialist if it doesn't work right.
The LCD in my opinion is not a no brainer compared to mecanical watches.
