With two 'new' vintage Speedmasters coming in, I am finding myself reluctantly adhering to the one in, one out rule... So this lovely piece might need to go. Arguably this is one of the best neo-vintage Speedmasters one can think of. Lovely condition, a hesalite plexi granting a view on a slightly patinated tritium dial and a display back providing centre stage to a nicely finished and recently serviced movement.
The combination of an 3572.50 reference and case profile, with a tritium dial, is actually rather rare.

Quoting other forum members; if any watch is a good entry point into vintage Speedmasters, this is it. If you're looking for perfection, this watch comes rather close and provides a great compromise between a good condition and high wearability. So, if you look for a wonderfully wearable vintage Speedy; please do read on!

Please find an assessment of the watch below. I have attempted to be as brutally honest as can be. Also note that I am certainly not the first owner of this watch. Hence I cannot guarantee originality of parts, although after having handled dozens of 80s and 90s Speedmasters, this one comes across as being unmolested.

Dial: The original dial with all lume plots perfectly in tact. The lume has aged to a very attractive, eggshell shade and has lost most of its luminous qualities as one would expect of a >25 yrs old piece. Dial body colour is perfectly homogeneously anthracite. The printing is perfectly intact.

Hands: Please consider these to be service, switched out before I obtained the watch. I suspect they are luminova. A minor detractor, coming at the benefit of legibility at night. :D

Case: Nice fat case with very sharp edges. Might have been lightly polished, which I suspect not because of the condition, which is sharp, but rather based on the presumably service hands. Some hairline scratches but overall in very good condition. Display caseback is in perfect order.

Bezel: Original bezel in very good condition.

Movement and Serial: A trusty 863 manual wound movement with a serial in the 48355xxx range. Even though there is no extract, this serial range sits at the very end of the Tritium range and the start of the 3572.50 production, probably 1997.

Runs and winds smoothly with all functions working properly. Screw heads look like new. The movement has only just been serviced and a service invoice is present. Another 11+ months of warranty remaining.

Bracelet: A rather short 1498 / 842 in good condition. It currently fits a 16,5cm wrist circumference. If required, I can source up to two spare links. These are not part of the package by default, as I would have to take them from another watch I am keeping. The bracelet is in good condition, with some minor toolmarks to the inside of the clasp. Nothing visible when worn, hence it didn't bother me in the slightest.

Package: This watch comes with papers, confirming delivery by a Japanese retailer in 1998. A box is included as well. Unfortunately, the manual / booklets have been lost. A minor issue which is more than compensated for by the hangtag being part of the package. Of course, both the warranty card and the hangtag bear the correct movement number.

Shipped worldwide at buyers expense, although I would strongly prefer a F2F deal in the Netherlands given the value of this piece and the added benefit of meeting a fellow OF-member in person.

No returns, please ask questions and extra pictures in advance. I am not making a habit out of selling, but I do have quite some - exclusively positive - references as a seller and buyer on this forum and could share more.

References and Linkedin profile available upon request.

As I am not too keen on letting this piece go at all and knowing that a Tritium 3572.50 is actually quite rare, even more so with papers, I am asking a rather firm price. Bear in mind that the cheapest comparable tritium 3572.50 on CH24 is listed at a similar price and would need to come from JP, adding EU VAT, making my offer much more attractive to European buyers. Please do not expect me to entertain low offers, I am of course open to reasonable suggestions.

    Price: EUR 4600

    On to the pictures…

You may want to adjust your comments about the other available 3572.50 ?
There is one from Japan at 4,5K with original hands and papers, and one from Finland same price but needs a new minute hand. You have a really nice watch and GLWS !

Thank you for your note! Just to be sure; compare full set (ie with warranty card and box) Tritium 3572.50s. The Finnish one is watch only. The Japanese indeed is comparable and listed slightly cheaper, until duty + VAT have been paid. With that in mind, my offer is considerably better to EU-based buyers. You have a point in that I could have been more clear, so I’ll adjust the description to reflect the above. Also, don’t forget mine is the only one with a confirmed recent service.

Oh, and of course I’m open to sensible offers, perhaps even more so on this Boxing Day. :)

What’s a post without a picture? There’s some actual daylight here today!

    Happy 2023!

Started the year with this one in my wrist. The more I wear and picture it, the more I think it isn’t going to go anywhere… :D

    Still, up she goes!

An entry level Tritium Speedmaster, full package, at this price... IMHO it won't get any better than this!

The more I wear this piece, the more I find myself wondering why I am even considering to part with it…

Admittedly, the bracelet is a bit of an acquired taste. Whilst I enjoy it, I do agree it looks just as good, if not better, on a strap.

Up she goes with a slight price adjustment. Make me an offer!
