·I'm a dive watch guy at heart and I've got a chance to get one of my grails: a Baby Ploprof. What this means to you is that to do so I've got to sell my Speedy. And it's a nice one too. Not perfect but in great shape for a 40 year old Omega. Just back from service in September and the 851 is keeping great time. All chronograph functions are working as they should and reset to zero.
What's not original is genuine Omega. The dial, all the hands and the crystal are new and from Omega. Case, case back, crown and pushers are original. The case I had bead blasted and it looks simply awesome. If one wished to return it to it's original brushed/polished finish this could be easily accomplished as the case remains in superb condition. Signed crown is in great condition but the pushers aren't great in a cosmetic sense. They function perfectly however. It always irritated me how much money they wanted for the pushers so I hadn't yet replaced them. The bracelet looks good except one of the links just broke on me. Turns out it had been broken before and poorly repaired. Was in the process of find a jeweler to fix it when the Baby Ploprof came available. Beyond the broken link the original and signed bracelet still looks quite good. Always thought it was lame that such a cool watch came with folded links but alas that was typical of the time period. Been wearing it on a custom GasGasBones black nylon strap with coordinating orange stitching. Love this strap. It's set up to fit between 7" - 7.5" wrist but would accommodate slightly smaller or larger wrists.
What's left to say? Great looking, rare vintage Omega Speedmaster just cleaned and serviced and working properly. I wind it everyday and it keeps time every bit as well as the ETA powered Aquadive that's next to it in the watchcase. I'm looking for $1500 or best offer. PayPal only and CONUS preferred. Cheers, -Patrick
