Is the dial itself on that one also 18k gold?—or gold coated somehow?

Awesome watch—don’t think I could pull off the look myself. 😀

Yes, that was directed to the Apollo piece.

Impressive!

Case and bracelet are 18k. I’m a tshirt and jeans person, my unique hobo fashion sense will immediately make any watch less blinging. I can hobolize this beauty further with a perforated racing strap — I have this all worked out in my head.

If you need a little inspiration.

I don’t know, man—once you feel that solid gold bracelet and clasp on your wrist, I’m not sure how you’d ever be able to swap it out for a strap. 😀

Watch metals are a funny thing.

A vintage Cartier tank will generally be more desirable and costlier in gold than steel.

But a vintage steel Patek is generally pricier than its gold counterpart.

I think these kinds of metal price variances are becoming less reliable with modern watches. And Omega has somehow always been largely allergic to gold vs steel price reliability. IWC has a similar track record, with the watch’s metal being secondary to other desirability factors.
