If you are talking from the MSRP then the answer is NO, but again if you buy it at the right price then yes should be ok.

You lose over 50% (>$6,000!) if you pay retail. If you pay new from a reseller, you'll lose a few hundred if resold in good condition.

I like the watch but I’m concerned by how aggressive Omega is at reproducing successful models. The DSOTM hasn’t been out that long and it seems like Omega makes multiple variations a year on it (black/black, pitch black, vintage black, etc).

Although few people like the White side of the Moon I think its relative rareness will make it more valuable in ten years.

Do not buy a watch if you are looking to break even or profit from it in a few years. Not saying you will not but that should not be the intention when getting your watch...

Don’t. Buy LNIB from a trusted seller. Let some other sucker take the initial hit.

The perfect thread to keep an eye on. I'm reluctantly looking to sell my DSoTM to help with a house move... Have never sold a watch before (never had any intention of doing so) but of my collection its the least worn.

Exactly what has been said previously. Fine watches are not a cash deposit scheme item. Research buy and enjoy or dip your toes in other hobbies. Owning a watch very rarely leads to riches, unless you are very very lucky.
If it speaks to you then buy it after negotiating but days of 30/40% are long gone and you would probably be offered 40/45% of purchase price if you sold it back direct to the shop you bought it from after 10 mins of ownership.

I hope you don't have to sell you watch but if you do I hope you get a great price.

I'm actually researching the purchase of a DSOTM , were would one find a trusted reseller ?
I'm in Canada and nervous of the import cost's if I buy out of country . Retail here is $14400 plus 12% tax , So that ain't going to happen . Sorry to jump on the thread , but I was about to start another one .

There are trusted sellers here on the forum and you will find a DSOTM from time to time in the watch marketplace

Some resellers on the forums from the US get creative with their packaging and how they declare their shipments but from Canada you are expected to pay your provincial sales taxes, 5% duty for Swiss watches and then whatever the dollar conversion is. Accounting for all that, it might be better to just buy new in Canada.

Or you can try your luck with the creative shipping methods of the many resellers here.
