Dear All! I looking for some help. I got a Omega Speedmaster C hronograph 18k gold. In the back side there are a very interesting hand writing graven. I need to find information about that. Who have any information? Wait all answer, Karoly
Hi Karoly. That's a very special watch, you have there! The engraving is probably a mark made by a watchmaker who have serviced it.
Watchmaker's use all sorts of codes after repairing a watch. The date may be embedded in the writing.
+1 Watchmaker's mark. Surprisingly, once I took a watch to my trusted local watchmaker to have gaskets replaced. He saw the markings on the caseback and knew exactly who it was that serviced it previously =) It's like their signature/branding
72 mark on a 2006 watch. May be something else to it ??? What happened in 72 ? Someone's name, any astronaut with similar letters........
It's just a service mark - can be a job number or something where the date is not readily apparent just by looking at it.
