Wow... have we seen a blue Ed White before?

Yes 馃榾

As well did we already cover the dial differences, like short indexes/pre-pro, for example 馃槈 But they are beautifuuuuuuul 馃グ

Thanks, that is really spectacular. The lack of bezel at the moment doesn鈥檛 even make a difference!

Other forums?

Some (mostly made up) reasons I no longer have the energy for other forums

"Does the brand new PO make me look fat?"

"help! I scratched my watch!"

"Disaster! I can't decide between two identical, mass produced watches!"

MOD message: "you have deeply offended a small minority of rolex collectors by making fun of their milk collection and so you are banned"

So you're saying you've turned into me. 馃槣 Be careful, banning is next! 馃お

What do you think about this dial ? It looks like there is a light blue on it... on a 105.012-64

I can鈥檛 see that myself. Maybe some more photos in different lighting conditions would help but it doesn鈥檛 seem to have the distinctive finish of other blue dials.

In person it should be quite obvious if it is different dial, this one I think might just have aged a little

This is an awesome post, I've had a keen interest in these Blue dials of late 馃槈 personally they do nothing for me and I can't see the outrageous price increase based on the dial, but then thats why I don't predominantly collect speedies. Superb research and knowledge and this is exactly why I love the forum and have virtually jumped ship completely from the others! Great work and thanks for your effort to educate the community
Whoops ! 12k then 100k now.

The AQ watch:

Not a bad watch. This dial is one of the grey, "soft"dials. (My designation)

These soft dials have a pleasant grey colour, with a matt lustre. One of the things that characterize all the soft grey dials is the deterioration, which is present to some degree - this one is better than many, although I have seen one or two that might be better.

$23,000 is not a crazy price. But we have to remember, the market is very limited, as this while this watch has tremendous attraction to a Speedophile like myself, most people would look at the dial and yell "Condition Condition Condition" which in my opinion is something chanted by inexperienced people, who overlook just how very rare this dial is, and also makes me wonder, each time I look at one, just HOW, and WHY?

Of course if your goal is only to have perfect B&P watches, then great (and yes I would love to see them) but for me, buy opening my self up a bit I can enjoy these weird and unusual pieces, albeit in somewhat poorer condition that I would accept on a 145.012.

Congratulations to the buyer.

possible tropical variant of a 2998 "silvered light grey" faded to this strange olive green color
