Skeleton hands- missing lume
Professionally restored dial -repaint
Professionally polished -ground down to a nub
New crystal (not spec’d Factory) - $4 generic crystal
Not tested for accuracy (found at a flea market)
Shows beautiful even patina- parts watch

Another nice one to add to the list: The meteor bezel - a rather chipped bezel as if blasted by a large number of small meteors.

Poor thing, I feel bad for the people bidding on this.

I do think MB sells a lesser class of items on ebay, generally speaking. Stuff on his site is much nicer.

Whowsers. Quite surprised to see this auction end at US $10.600,00 (!). I cannot imagine this to have been a good deal for anyone but the seller, or did I really underestimate the value of a poor 2998 specimen that grotesquely?

I still see a bad case, wrong crown and pushers, wrong bezel, a relumed but not unattractive dial with some possibly good hands and caseback. Is this what a movement suited for a 2998 would go for these days?
