Hi All, Im just the proud owner of a Omega Speedmaster from 1998. The watch is fully checked by Omega before purchase. This one comes with a Tachymetre function. No yesterday at 16 or 17PM i put my watch away, with the tachymetre still on. This morning around 10 am i saw it was empty. As i remember these watches should have a powerreserve from at least 40 hours, but this is less then 18 hours. Could this be an incident or is it because of the tachymetre that is asking for extra power? Any toughts on this?
No, but i worn it for 2 days. Its an automatisch watch and therefore charge itself right? Or am i uninformed?
So it has gotten no service since 1998? By tachmetre you actually wanted to say the chronograph function, what the exact model you have?
I bought i recently. The shop is a legit chain. They sent it back to omega for a revision before sell it. The model is an Omega Speedmaster its the 56 seriess
What model do you have? Obviously the Pro isn’t an automatic. Does it actually say ‘automatic’ on the dial?
The serialnumber is: 56,000,000 – 59,999,999 No i dont have an invoice stating a factory service. But i bought i at a Bucherer story, which are super legit if you ask me.
Serialno's still don't tell is what Speedmaster you actually have. Also if you're sure of the service go back to the store for a warranty fix.
Wearing the watch will not necessarily wind the watch fully, it depends on level of activity, efficiency of the auto-winding, etc. IIRC Omega generally recommends pre-winding by hand, and then using the auto-winding to maintain the stored power. Anyway, if you want to test power reserve in a meaningful way, turn the crown 50 times and put the watch down until it stops running.
