For me, the obvious tell is the shape of the case. Once you've stared at your original 57 Replica (from 1997), It's obvious how bad that case is.

@kendrick90 the watch you have is so obviously fake that when compared to a real 57 you'd have to be drunk, blind, or terminally stupid to not see the difference.
Now stop wasting everyone's time and smash that piece of crap up with the largest hammer you can find.

That's a cheap Chrono movement made in China a clone of a Japanese quartz movement. The 24 hour sub dial in the right and the 60 minute Chrono subdial on the bottom are dead give aways even if you know nothing about watches. No mechanical watch movement is set up that way.
If the watch is in hand and you trigger the Chrono the Chrono second will tick 1 time a second not appear to sweep. For all intents and purposes no mechanical will tick 1 time a second. There are some rare high end ones that will but that is not something you will run into until you know better.
Afaik no Omega Chrono runs a 1 hour minute subdial, they all run 30 minute subdials.

I hope you didn't pay a lot of money for that....... watch??? I know nuffink about watches and that could have so easily have been me. But then I think I would have asked first and taken the roasting on the chin from the forum.
Why didn't you ask first? The boys would still have ripped you to shreds but it would've been cheaper in the long run???
This sorry affair reminds me of this poor old horse in a tight spot...... and the cow thinks it's funny!

For all noob collectors out there, If you see the chrome wearing off the pushers and case, it's not an authentic Speedmaster. Original is stainless.
