A bit of a catch and release for me. Here is a classic 145.022-69 with a classic stepped dial, a super clean DON bezel, pre-moon caseback, and a proper 1039 bracelet. It’s a pretty great entry level vintage Speedy, and one where I had originally thought to put a bit more time and effort into in order to make it clean and tight. However, I think I’m looking more for an 321 applied dial/drop chrono hand in the future.

Case / Bezel: Case is probably one of the best things about this watch. It’s in great condition with sharp lugs and bevels. No major pitting, dings, or damage. You’ll see a bit of surface scratches, but nothing out of the ordinary. This was definitely a watch I wore because I didn’t want to just stick the damn thing in a safe.

Crown and pushers are clean (narrow feet / wide & tall respectively) and both feel great when in use. The crown pulls out and winds smoothly, and the pushers have an incredibly satisfying ‘click’ feeling when engaging and resetting the chronograph.

The DON bezel is another great part of this watch. The print on the bezel is sharp without any large scratches/damage/dents. There's very minimal spotting 8-10 oclock and 2-3 oclock, but otherwise the print on the bezel is sharp.

The pre-moon caseback has definitely been polished in a previous life, but the seahorse etching is easily visible.

Dial / Handset: The dial is incredibly clean with no stains or damage. The stepped dial and concentric rings on the subdials are really sharp and all the prints are crisp without any smudges or damage. The lume on the hour markers is all intact and with only a tiny oxidation mark on the 6 oclock marker.

The lume on the handset has aged a bit darker and has cracked/flaked in certain areas on the hour/min hand. The chonosweep is fully intact. Subdial hands are all clean with the exception of the 9oclock running seconds hand. You’ll see some slight damage towards the base where the white paint has rubbed off.

Movement: I was told the movement was serviced in the fall of 2018. All functions work as they should (keeps time, full power reserve, chrono resets to 12) so I was satisfied, but I do not officially time my watches.

Bracelet / Accessories: Watch will come with a 1039 bracelet with 516 endlinks. The bracelet has enough links to make it 5.9 inches long and should fit most wrist-sizes. There are a few links that are quite stretched out (4). I’ve also tried to capture it in the pictures. I had thought to fix this myself in the same way I’ve restored my Doxa bracelets, but oh well. The best laid plans and all that. From the back, you'll see there are two links (one on each side) where the previous owner did some damage to fold of the link.

Disclosure: I'm first a collector, so I always try to provide additional details for what I see are shortcomings of the watch. That way any potential buyer can purchase with confidence in what they are getting.

I’ve already mentioned a few things above (polished caseback, slight oxidation mark at 6 oclock lume, darker and missing patina on min/hour hand, slight damage at base of 9 oclock subdial hand, stretched linked on bracelet). Additionally, under certain lighting conditions, the crystal will show few smudges on the inside of the crystal. This is most apparent in front of the “20” on the 3 oclock subdial. I've tried to capture the picture below, but it's incredibly hard to photo in natural light. However, I know I see it out of the corner of my eye now and then and wanted to make a full disclosure.

    Price:
    My price is $7000 USD
net to me. I am basing this off the Speedmaster101 for a “Good” condition 145.022-69/DON as well as having the 1039 bracelet with 516 end-links. I think this is fair for a relatively clean dial, a great case/DON, and a working 1039 bracelet. Open to reasonable offers as well.

The price includes fully insured shipping in the CONUS. For international/other shipping reach out and we can figure something out. As always, I am located in Houston TX and am more than happy to do a face to face transaction.
