    Hi OF,

For sale is a 145.022-69 with a DNN misprint 220 bezel. These special watches were made for a short period in between the pre-moon 145.022 DON bezels and the more common DNN bezels seen on 1971-1992 Speedmasters. It falls right in range for these -69/220 special bezels with a 31003*** serial number dating to March 1970 (according to ilovemyspeedmaster.com – Thanks @eugeneandresson!). It comes with a 1039 bracelet in great condition with matching 516 end links. The bracelet is dated first quarter 1971.

Dial: Vintage tritium dial is in good condition. No damage from what I can see and any scratches you see are on the crystal. There is a speck of dirt over the “S” in Speedmaster. Perhaps this can be removed. Most of the lume has gone a yellow color, but some is darker than the rest. It looks as if some of the plots have been touched up and it may be a candidate for a relume. I’ll leave that to the next buyer.

Hands: Period correct handset with paint loss on the chrono hand. See pictures closely. The subdial hands have a very feint cream color to them. I quite like it. The lume in the hands glow very very slightly under UV but otherwise look a dark color.

Case: The case is in fantastic shape with original case lines and polishing sharp and intact. It’s got a small nick on the 9 o’clock side and a few scratches commensurate with age. The caseback hippocampus is beautiful and no heavy noob marks are present. Pushers and crown are in good shape and I believe are correct for the reference.

    Bezel:
Original DNN 220 bezel is in good shape with no dings but paint chipping most noticeable by “60” and “250”. Again, these bezels were made for a very short period of time and only fit on -69 speedy's in this serial range.

Movement: Movement is clean and pictured below, with correct serial for this reference. I have not worn the watch for more than a few hours and have not formally tested timing / amplitude, but it appears to be keeping good time. I tested the chronograph a few times and it functions as expected. However, because I have not serviced the movement, I recommend a full service before daily wear and am selling the watch as-is.

Bracelet: Sold with an original 1039 bracelet stamped 1-1971 for first quarter. I did not want to separate it from the watch as they came together, and I think it really completes the look. The clasp is in great shape and opens and closes normally. The bracelet has 20 links I believe and 5 stretch links. It fits my 6.5” wrist comfortably. See pictures.

I’m asking $5500 USD (or best offer) shipped CONUS for this 145.022-69 with 220 Misprint DNN bezel. Int’l shipping at cost. Paypal/Zelle/Venmo or transferwise for int'l buyer. Happy to answer any questions by PM. No returns unless grossly misrepresented. I have a bunch of feedback here:

    Thank you!
    Ben
