Knock knock!

Who is there?
It is from FedEx…

Woppppaaaa...My watch had arrived!
🥰

I did a post before regarding my followed auctions on 69´s:

And this was watch nr 6 that I wrote about, which would come on an own report!

It's always a little nerve-wracking waiting for the watch, and finally assessing the watch once you have it in hand.
But I have to say/write that I am very pleased!

This one was up on an auction,
and I did the usual stuff - looking at the few pictures, having a chat with the curator,
asking for more pictures, trying to assess them and making my Masterplan!

I thought that this 69 was the nicest of the ones that I looked at (and followed).

According to the auction house, a one owner watch, not much used, and probably never serviced (but who really knows…?)
Serial nr 3059xxxx, so a late 69 with the DON bezel.

The dial - Very nice print, no visible oil spots or blemishes, and with a pleasing brown tint/tone.
The lume - they are complete and clean, with a nice warm color.

The bezel - It has the nice thin font, a small chip above the 225, other than that - a Very Good bezel.

The case - the brushing is very visible, with sharp and attractive edges,
it has a few scratches and marks, and there are a couple of dents on the underside of the left upper lugg.

The caseback - the circles are visible, and it is sharp and nice, with only a few tiny scratches.
The movement - the watch had been opened, but no watchmaker marks, very clean, some small scratches on some parts.
A strange thing - the part that has the serial number stamped has a different shade,
maybe a defect or somebody tried to clean or wipe it with a solvent to read the numbers?

The hands - the minute hand had some lumeloss (sadly), and a very small paintloss, but this could be adressed during the service.
The lume on the chronohand had some discoloration.
They light up and fade correctly together with the indices under a UV-light.

The crystal is clean, only a few scratches.
And there is the old Omega logo in the center!

The crown is a 24 tooth with the period correct Omega logo, the pushers necks have a very light aging tone.

It also had a bracelet, a 1039 with 516 endlinks in a nice condition and only missing 2 spring links (correct me if I am wrong here…).
I do think that this bracelet came with the watch.

Grading the watch for my Masterplan - between Good and Very Good (closer to Very Good) with the bonus of the bracelet, so roughly 6400€ / 7500$?

And guess what - I won the watch!
😄

Enjoy the pictures, and please do comment!!

And also OF - ENJOY the upcoming holidays!

SKÅL!
🍺🍺🍺

These were from the auction house.

Comparing with my other 69´s!
The latest one is on the left.

And a wrist shot!

beautiful watch

these -69 with DON and 1039/516 - they are desirable

to find one with attractive appearance (for me lume and dial is
the most important, that the watch laughs at you) is a hard job

congrats and regards from a close relative

Looking at these pictures, I’d say we’re looking at a Very Good to Excellent piece here.

Surprised nobody called DIBS yet, so I will. Not that I think there’s any chance I’ll ever get to exercise those, but hey, one can always try.

Congrats, @hansaboy!

Thanks Guys!
I have "played" around with the watch for some time now, and I am really Happy with this one!
It feels and looks better in the flesh compared to the pictures that the auction house took...😊

And @Aludic , you have called DIBS on my 66 HF, and now this one....sadly (for you) these are keepers.....😁

Have a lovely Sunday OF!

Great catch Hans. I’d say this is ‘very good’, nothing ‘good’ about it. Case is very good + or even excellent.

As @Dan S wrote on my 1675 thread, it seems to be a good time to buy from auctions right now.

Thanks David, I maybe tend to lay on the low side sometimes when grading a watch based only on pictures?
I hate to receive a watch, and find stuff that was not in my assessment!
This one was a pleasing unpacking!

And good luck with your lovely 1675!
