Hi OF, Continuing the sell off for a non-watch related major purchase. So here it goes, it was fun while it lasted for sure on this one! For sale is my Speedmaster -68 Transitional. The watch is dated back to the 20th of December, 1968. Dial: Applied logo metal dial with long indices. The indices has been relumed with a thin vintage lume because the lume had completely washed off from the dial when I bought the watch, had a few recommendation from a few experts to do this and I couldn't be happier with the result. I was recommended to relumed the hands as well to match, but I'd leave that to the next owner to decide as I'd like to keep as much originality as possible. I have also attached a photo of the dial without the case when it was opened by my watchmaker, for a full disclosure. All original hands that has some wear due to the age. Case: Overall nice condition case, case back engraving is still showing very nicely, stamped 145.022-68 ST inside case back. Omega logo on the hesalite crystal and crown. Original DoN bezel that has some wear, this has been reflected on the price. Movement: Cal 861, keeping excellent time and all functions work perfectly. Apart from the fact that this watch is a Transitional Speedmaster and carries all the correct Transitional elements, it's actually quite a special one due to the fact that the watch is one of the very early Cal 861 ever made according to Moonwatch Only Book which dated back the 145.022-68 to serial number ranges from 26,555,xxx to 27,719,xxx. This watch movement number is 26,555,xxx and the Extract of the Archives dates it back to late 1968 (most transitional Speedmaster were produced in 1969 in my understanding), which also explains the spear ended chrono hand that rarely found in this reference, due to that it is a very early version -68. There are some people in this forum that has the Transitional reference with the spear ended hand as well. I bought this watch initially for the exact reasons above, and it was an important piece for me because of that. More information about this reference can also be found below, I have also attached some photos of the MWO pages for this reference. http://speedmaster101.com/145-022-transitional/ The watch comes with a brand new brown leather straps (not pictured) and the Extract of the Archives is also included in this sale. Priced at 5,800 USD + shipping. Paypal or bank wire only. Thanks heaps Andre
Is that a very nice looking (not easy to source) Bonklip bracelet ??? Those are very cool and often seen on vintage military watches! I may need to source one for a RAF 53 with fixed bars. Very nice!
Really appreciate it Sent you a PM Marc! Appreciate all the interests guys, heaps of PMs in my inbox. I think I've priced the watch reasonably, I had the chance to upgrade the bezel in order to add more value but I'd prefer the original bezel for it. Buyer failed to complete the payment after putting a deposit due to personal issue, I've decided to refund the deposit and put the watch back on sale. Let's find this watch a good home
I'm not related to the seller, but can tell you that I have dealt with him on watch sales. His watches are well researched, and he is professional to deal with. Buster
