I would like to buy an Omega Speedmaster 105.012-66 HF Caseback in very fine to excellent condition. The seahorse and logo completely intact on the caseback. See Images of condition of back side and interior of caseback seeking.

Caseback Interior (Image from Speed_Meister ebay 8/2020 )

Caseback Exterior My current caseback unfortunately is a CB caseback in mint condition

If you have one available for sale please contact me by PM.

Thank you

@Marsimaxam : There’s a 105.012-66 CB with an incorrect HB caseback on eBay, the exact reverse of your issue:

I suppose you could buy it and have two correct watches.

edit: I take it back. My mistake. His caseback is a 145.012-67. Sorry.

I would like both versions eventually...so not a bad idea, but what would be the odds of the reverse mix up. Finding a CB mid case in great condition is also an option.

I took a look at the watch you suggested, that’s more of a clusterf@$k then mine. LOL. At least my case back is from same year and reference. The watch for sale has a CB mid-case from a 105.012-66 reference still showing facets but pitted, and a 145.012-67 caseback. My caseback would complete the watch for sale, but I’d still be looking for a HF caseback.
Appreciate the thought.

Thanks for thinking

Up we go, bump

If you find the CB mid-case, don't forget that you will need the right pushers, press-in I think.

Thanks Dan... that’s why the easiest solution is a HF caseback. The one for sale on eBay isn’t in good enough condition.
I’m hoping the pushers will be easier to find.

Well, if you find a mid-case, it may come with pushers. I just wanted to make sure you weren't planning to swap the pushers from your current case, since I'm not sure that would work.

I ordered an Extract from Omega but it’s my understanding that the information provided will not state whether case was HF or CB... be nice.
I’m quite sure it’s an HF version and somewhere along the line somebody swapped in a CB caseback... don’t think many paid attention years ago

It won't even say the last two digits of the reference. Just 105.012 IIRC.

It's been a long search, mate. From experience I can say hang in there and it will turn up eventually; most likely unexpectedly just after you have lashed out all the play money for that once in a lifetime grail. 😵‍💫 It happens.

Thank you for your words... a few have come up but none were in a good enough condition to blend with the midcase. I can't say I have all the time in the world, but, I'm patient.
