I am fascinated by these brown/eggplant bezel CBs. I've only ever seen this colour on CBs, hope you don't mind if I PM you for some info, as I build a list of them.

Absolutely Hans. Along with the slimmer side profile, the ‘footprint’ as you call it are the best ways to tell a polished CB from a -66 HF.
I really want another CB but too many new watches over the last 6 months and a new business have decimated my watch fund.

My ‘old’ CB with its fabulous grey bezel.

The 105.012-66 HF and CB case backs are definitively not the same!

CB lug tips are flatter, while HF's is pointed. Flatter tip could be to prevent piercing through or damage the suit.
