It would be nice to know what the NASA serial numbers are for the 24957xxx range, as mine is in the same range 😀

Hope the OP's serial will be a 25 xxx xxx but anyway its a nice looking watch regardless

Is this a confirmed franken?
The only ones on the list that I would absolutely vouch for are mine that have an Omega Extract from the Archives (# 75 and 76). The rest are ones that I picked up off the internet. #21 and #90 are outliers. The 18.945 movement in #21 would be more believable in a 2998-5 (http://www.vintageure.dk/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=326). #90 is a 25.xxx movement in a 105.012-63. It's too late for a '63. Maybe there are 25.xxx movements in a 105.012, but I didn't come across any. My list however is not very large. I went back and looked at #21 and I think it is a Franken. It's listed as having new hands and a dial that was reprinted by the factory (???). The case is refinished, the bezel is correct and a bit worn. The dial kinda looks brand new, but I don't know what to make of it. The movement belongs in a 2998-5. If I am evaluating a watch and the movement is very different than what's on the list, I'd be less inclined to give it a thumbs up. The final word in most cases (the extract on some of the early watches only has date of manufacture) is the Extract.

Yup. 1920 CHF in march 2010. IF I knew as much then as I know today, I'd have bid on that watch for sure. It has a legit CK 2998-5 movement and a nice DON bezel.

Had another talk with the seller, he had it for ten years and didn´t change anything.
He also said that he bought it from the first owner and he did send me a picture of the 1039 that came with this watch it was dated 4/67 by the way.
It will really be interesting what Omega has to say about the serial number.
😀
I have to admit that i really do like the watch as it is, especially the nice case was one of the reasons why i decided to pull the trigger.
Also the color of the lume was quite intriguing 🙄

Well, after about 2 month waiting i did receive the extract. It is signed by Stephen Urquhart now, maybe thats why they did raise the price for it
by 40% 😀
All the experts in this thread were right, the movement belongs to a 145.012 and it was sold to France in 1968. Well... at least it isn´t a movement from a Seamaster. 😁
So what to do now?
Any of the guys here have nice 145.012 Case he wants to trade for the 105.012 😗
or a 105.012 movement he wants to trade for the 145.012. 😗
Or should i just change the bezel, large second hand and crown (got all of these parts) and wear it. 😀

I wouldn't be swapping that case for a '67 one!

Is it your only Speedmaster? If so it might be worth keeping an eye out for .012 movement over the next few months? Years? Either way, I'd get your correct hands and bezel on and wear the hell out of it!

I'm sure you wouldnt have any problem trading the 105.012 case for a 145.012 case.

I prefer the 105.012 case and would be will to make that trade

What I would do, and this is just me because I like symmetry, is find a 105.012-66CB that has either had its case polished such that the facets are gone, or one that has a wrong or replaced case and make one really good CB and one average 145.012 out of the two.

Thats what i was thinking about also, another favorable option, but expensive too 😉
