Hi! Not hopeless. You have two options really: 1) Spend loads of money. 2) Strike lucky and find one at some local market or similar at a fantasy (low) price. Option 1 is the easy way......... A good friend unearthed one in Denmark last week. Completely unmolested and in good running (but not serviced or used in many years) condition for about EUR2500(!). People are paying the double of this or (much) more for perfect examples. It seems to only get worse..... Hence the "Happy Hunting" comment!
Northernman: thanks for your post. In three weeks I'm going to Denmark for Holidays, so I have to keep my eyes open
Most of us start off with a later model speedy even a new one and then the bug starts to bite and you have a LE speedy or two then the hunt starts for a pre moon landing. Not always like this but several new to Omega speed master want to go straight to the grail with a budget and without research that is needed to avoid the pitfalls of the early speed masters. I have learnt from many a wise member on this forum. (thanks guys too many to list) Research Research Research Condition Condition Condition (and Money Money Money helps)
Stand, thank you. I have already some Speedies (Mark II, IV. 5, 125 and a Professional from 1989 which I love most) and that's why I'm looking for a Ed White ;-)
