·I was reading this article about the differences in Speedmaster 105.012 65 and I am wondering about the date cut off between the inside case back marking between the case backs with and without the S in front of the reference number.
https://www.chronoholic.com/post/a-...dmaster-professional-105-012-65-the-moonwatch
The site states "The case back of the 105.012-65 features a double bevel with the Hippocampus logo in the center, SPEEDMASTER writing on top and the Omega logo at the bottom.
The inside is stamped with reference S 105.012-65.
Around mid November of 1966 (24.014.XXX serial range) the S in front of the reference number is omitted, and case backs which appear on examples produced from mid November 1966 until the end of the production run in Q1 1967 feature a reference stamp of 105.012-65 sans the S in front of it."
This got me thinking because I just acquired a 65 with a serial number of 245360xx and it has a case back with the S in it. I started researching this subject and I could not find any more info on this.
What I started doing is finding watches with pictures of serial number and case back provided. The vast majority of what i found is that there seems to be a prevalence of S case backs before November 1966 but i also found out that a lot of watches that have a serial number earlier than 24.014.XXX have the case back without the S (The majority do have the S but a good amount had no S), a few examples below (some had even earlier serial numbers with 2400xxxx)

Conversely i found a few with the S case back and a first quarter 1967 serial number including this one that has an extract:

My question is was this serial number start range for the sans S case backs a hard line or something more fluid like so many other things Speedmaster related? My watch has a late serial number and the S marked case back so I am trying to figure out if there could be an issue.
