Hello! Im going on a trip to Spain next year and I'm planning on buying my first luxury watch. I really like the Omega brand and I am particularly interested in the SeamasterDiver 300M omega co-axial Master chronometer 42 mm with reference number 210.30.42.20.01.001. I believe here in the U.S. and Puerto Rico the retail price is around $4850.00 USD. I'd like to know if anyone could share their experience what retail prices for OMEGA watches are in Spain and how much do non-EU customers qualify for a VAT refund. Im fairly inexperienced, is there a waiting list for this particular watch? Are they easily found at an AD? Are there any recommendations on buying from Spain versus the Canary islands? The U.S. import tax on rolex/omega watches is around 3% from skimming on other forums. Any advice in general will be greatly appreciated!

Get best retail price you can in US. Calculate total cost including taxes. Drive the hardest bargain you can with Spanish AD ... don’t buy on the spot .. lay off a day or two go by to negotiate .. close with passport in hand and try to get VAT back on the spot. Failing that....secure AD commitment to ensuring you get it back after you file. What happens between you and Uncle Sam is up to you ...

You'll be better off buying in the US.

I’d check prices on Chrono24 or a similar site before finalizing a deal here in Europe. My experience is that the best prices are in the US, in particular NY.
