If this is consistently turning backwards when you engage the chronograph, it could be that the hammer is slightly magnetized, or there is excess oil on the hammer/cam of the chronograph runner. There are other less common reasons for this also, but they often result in more movement than just 1/5th of a second.
If it only does it once in a while, then just the luck of the draw as the teeth of the chronograph runner and coupling wheel meet each other.
