Hi, I noticed that the white enamel numeral on my SMP's bezel seem to be flawed, see pictures below,
Does anyone have a similar problem? As I know it’s not only on my watch, recently omega often make mistake on the bezel, and dust inside the glass too,
I want to send it for the service but I dont want wait also for a long time, because it’s not obvious to see but my eyes always going to the flawed dots.
What would you do instead of me, would you send it for omega service, or you leave it like that.

If its a new purchase I would be returning it for refund or replacement.

As I know they don’t refund and don’t replacement watches too, they only replace bezel, or renew it on the service, and I dont know I will send it or not.

Please return it or have them replace the bezel. We don't want flawed watches floating around. Also, Omega must understand that we won't settle for anything but perfection. Returning it will benefit the entire community, not just you.

I was in the store and they would not return it back, as they told they only can to send it in omega service, and they replace bezel or to make it, omega politics is like that unfortunately.

Here in NZ there is legislation preventing that sort of corporate bad behaviour, hence my comment full refund or replacement, obviously this does not apply in your locale.

I can't tell if you are being serious, or if you are mocking the OP. 😕

Dead serious. I hold Omega to high standards.

Never buy a vintage watch then, from any manufacturer. Perfection is an illusion. The closer you look, the more issues you will find.

My impression is that vintage Omega watches were pretty damn perfect when they were new. Isn't it how you can spot that a vintage watch has been redialed, because the dial has imperfections? If Omega starts being sloppy now. We're in trouble. It would give fakers the opportunity to beat the quality of the original. Perfection is what I expect of true luxury brands.

Dont think id put Omega is that category (or Rolex or Cartier etc etc) and agree with the other comments, perfection is high bar. Official QA has tolerances. You are in for a lot of disappointment. I too thought you were joking. Im only commenting to other people dont expect perfection from mid tier manufacturing. (If its luxury you are after add a zero)

Re OP, have they agreed to swap? If so maybe hold off for a few years and get it done as part of service.

Interesting. Is that noticeable straight on or only under magnification / loop?

Yes it’s noticeable straight, If you know where it is you can to see it without magnification.

At this point I think the most economical move is to live with it and make sure it’s fixed when you need a service. My new Speedmaster also has what I consider a small imperfection and I’ve mostly forgotten about it and hardly ever notice it. I’m also a perfectionist type who can’t unsee things and is drawn to flaws etc. At the end of the day, it’s a tool watch and going to pick up many worse scars.

I’ve only been in this forum a couple months and seen a couple of these QC issues. I think the lesson is to try not to get caught up in the excitement of the acquisition, bring a loupe and methodically inspect the watch before it’s sized/worn. Even then you might miss something. Once you wear the watch it can’t be returned and has to go to Omega service. If all else fails, buy a Journe instead. 😁

F.P. Journe watches are well down on the haute horologie list when it comes to flaws and imperfections. Great conception and novel designs but often with 'not quite right' execution. Great watches, but far from perfect.

I'm sorry to contradict but you'll never see a flaw like this on a Rolex ceramic bezel. It would never pass QC.

Says you and yet there is a thread on TZ-UK right now about how many Subs are being delivered with bezels that are misaligned. If like me you use a loupe for a living, you can find faults with most things if you look hard enough.

You might want to have the dial and date wheel redone as well, I circled some spots for you. look at anything under enough magnification you will find flaws. And you missed a spot on the 3.
