Omega SM300 Vintage Help

Hello everyone!

I just purchased a SM300 and was hoping to clarification on the year of production. The seller said it was a 1968. However, based on the bezel, I believe that it could be dated from 1964/65. Can anyone help confirm? Maybe there are other ways to tell that I am not familiar with. Thank you!!

Open it up and look at the movement. Best if done by someone who knows what they are doing.

Hands are also correct for a 64-66 model and not for a 68, so I suspect you are correct.

Please wait for the experts' opinion - I don't really understand this: I just drew your attention to what, from my point of view, looks incorrect.

Thank you for your response! I obtained a picture of the case back and the movement from the seller. The case back shows it being a 1964, however on the serial number on the movement, it seems to be a 1966 serial. Any idea on why that would be the case?

Because the reference 165.024-64 was produced in 1965 & 1966. The reference/case number has nothing to do with the production year. What is the serial number?
You can post the pictures if you want more precise feedback.

It’s fine.
Produced second half of 1966. If you PM me the last four digits, I could narrow it down to which month.
All parts correct for a -64
