    Hi!

I just got this 165.024, and I just realised it is missing it´s rehaut. At least I think it is missing, I only see a black rubbery thing - probably a gasket? Is it possible this model came without the rehaut I´ve seen in other pictures?

Sorry for the shity photo, Im losing the light and the plexi is really scratched up. There is a visible dot on no. 12 index but not on the sixth.

    Best regards

Looks like an aftermarket crystal might have been fitted.
The correct Omega crystal should cure it.

But the crystal has the omega-mark if you look closely in the picture. Or is the crystal the same as the plexi? :p

Thank you for your reply :)

Crystal and plexi should be about the same.
I have seen correct crystals having been glued in by "the not so talented".
Might be that your crystal has lost its rehaut, and someone has glued it in?
Anyhow I am certain you will not use it before it has gotten a proper service, and any competent watchmaker should be able to "cure" the problem.
As to the dots. They are not always that easy to see...

Cheers and congratz on a nice watch!

There are some good ones in Sweden. I am sure that both @marturx, @styggpyggeno1 or @donkii can name several if you should be in doubt.

It is an original crystal IMO.
On 1965-67 productions the 165.024 came with a black rehaut, not a silver one.
Yours is properly an 165.024-64 reference (65 or 66 production), so would be ok. Most crystals on these have been replaced (service/replacement crystals have silver rehaut, also most old service ones), so black ons are pretty rare to see. Better pictures /close-ups should confirm that. I would only polish the crystal and not replace it, unless it is cracked and can't hold any pressure. And even so, save the old part.
Even without movement and caseback shot, I dare say that you have a nice and all original 165.024-64. Congrats.

But some generic crystals for SM 300 of that time also had black rehaut , obviously the only way to know if this is Omega is with the little sign on center.

I would agree an original crystal too. My 165.024-66 has a black rehaut too and crystal has original flat foot Omega logo.
