Omega Service Question

Hi all,

Does anyone have any before and after photos of a service? I have recently acquired a used speedmaster and the polished areas of the lugs are scratched up - hairline scratches, swirls and few dings. (I am not fussed about the dings) but wondered if a refinish would remove all the other scratches.

Thanks again

One does not refinish Speedmaster cases. Most include a note to not touch the case.

Any pictures.

( you can have a case refinished but it would effect the price immediately )

Here is an example of a case re finish on an Ed White done by Omega in Bienne. I don't know what it was like before the polish. As said it is not a popular option with most collectors these days.

Refinished/ Polished? It is only 8 years old so a modern piece - It says a refinish/ polish is included with the service on the omega website.

Looks sweet! Its the polished area on the lugs I need refinishing - just hope swirls and scratches can be removed

It’s your call if you want it done, but think of every time you service a watch you got it polished.

Well have you tried a cap cod cloth or a jewellery cloth.

Yes I understand where you are coming from - I have not tried cape cod but a jewellery cloth has made it worse.
Will cape cod remove swirls and hair line scratches? I can live with the dings.

Thanks

I had marked up my LE Railmaster and Cape Cod does get scratches out.
